A few details
I led the instructional design of a 56-credit, 18-month ABSN program aimed at preparing nontraditional students to complete a BSN in a compressed format.
Some special
We partnered with busy clinical faculty to develop 16 online courses that accommodate both in-person teaching loads and asynchronous engagement.
How I solved it
I incorporated an alignment matrix to front-load course design, mapping in-person syllabi to an online format and guiding revisions to support asynchronous delivery.
The ABSN program supports students on an accelerated path to earn their BSN, often while working in clinical roles. I collaborated with faculty who are also practicing nurses, balancing their full-time teaching and hospital duties. Our design process prioritized flexibility and clarity, especially for asynchronous learning. As the program lead, I also contributed to high-level scheduling and curriculum decisions, ensuring consistency across 16 courses and 5 designers.
