Transmutation Salon, a new business in Chapel Hill, needed a logo that put a new twist on an ancient symbol.

From Wikipedia: “The Squared Circle: an alchemical symbol (17th century) illustrating the interplay of the four elements of matter symbolising the philosopher’s stone.”
How I solved it
My approach
I used Adobe Illustrator to recreate the symbol and add the brush-like texture digitally.
